Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET)
Clients
The ISET program provides access to training and employment supports to
Canadian Indigenous women in their diversities, including status and non-status
First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples whether residing on or off-reserve, in urban
centres and in rural, remote communities.
The ISET program is intended to provide financial supports such as tuition, living
allowance, childcare, job starts and other resources to help eligible Indigenous
women in all their diversities to reach their employment and skills training goals.
Eligibility:
- Indigenous women in all their diversities (First Nation, Metis or Inuit).
- Be unemployed, under-employed or can demonstrate an immediate risk of becoming unemployed.
Please Note:
In order to proceed with your application, please prepare the following documents:
- Complete the application form.
- Letter of acceptance from an educational institution.
- Copy of your ID.
- Letter of decision from other funding sources (i.e. Band, etc.).
If you’re applying for a living allowance, please ensure you have the following documents ready to upload before starting your application:
- Proof of income (for yourself and your spouse, if applicable):
- Last 3 pay stubs
- Child Tax Benefit statement (if applicable)
- Proof of monthly expenses:
- Lease or mortgage statement
- Utility bills from the past 3 months (hydro, water, natural gas, sewer, garbage)
- Childcare (if applicable)
Partnerships Building:
NWAC has created partnerships with public and private sector employers who are committed to employing Indigenous women and gender-diverse people.
These partnerships provide Indigenous women and gender-diverse people with appropriate education and training to secure meaningful employment in a demand-driven, skills sector.
